I wasn't aware that plastic laminated notices meant you could park for free or on double yellow! |

They don't. Which is why, in order to deliver to the corner of Swallow St and Piccadilly, I didn't park there - double yellows, red route, bus lane, pandemonium, you name it - instead I parked in the marked loading bay between Jermyn St and Norris St on Haymarket. It took me less than 15 minutes' walk round trip and the notice said "no loading observed for 15 minutes". I eventually got it cancelled by providing a photocopy of the signature, date and time of delivery, but only after 3 phone calls, two e-mails, paying for a photocopy, posting it and three months' wait.

Been there done that had it stolen.
It was in the window, but my wifes office window was 6 feet away and there was some bloke in the street who saw the person break the window.
New leather interior ruined by glass, lost unit, excess on the glass breakage.
Wipe the screen with a bit of that paper towel they have at the garage.
That way it is always clean.
cheers

the scoats don't give two hoots to who's watching either.
In September I was in Mddlesborough on an industrial estate, parked at the side of the road. About 20 yards ahead of me on the opposite side was a articulated lorry. The driver got out of her cab to check that the security guard at her delivery point would guide her back whist reversing.
While she was doing that a guy about 25'ish passed by on a bicycle seconds later the drivers window shattered (there was no one near it!). Next thing the guy on the bike came back and jumped through the window. Ripped out the TTG700 and calmly cycled off.
I was on the mobile to Cleveland police before the so'n'so had left the cab. I passed the crime ref number to the driver. I left my details with the driver as a witness. FOUR WEEKS later Cleveland Police rang me to see what happened, and would I recognise the guy if I saw him again!!?? The CID officer was surprised to learn that date of the incident. But the guy apparently used an air pistol to break the window!
BE safe with your satnav gear. Here's what I do remove the ring on the window (I'm actually gettiing a vent mount) and leave the glove box open (EMPTY!). No problems so far.
Cut the theives Bl**dy hands off ! they would think twice then....

"FOUR WEEKS later Cleveland Police rang me to see what happened, and would I recognise the guy if I saw him again"
and there u have the reason for the scroats not caring about who sees them..
my car is vandalized on a weekly base by the local asbos..
nobody ever sees them and the police dont give a wotsit..
in essence the "scroats" can pretty much do as they like and get away with it.. and they know it..
my answer.. i have two cars.. a vandal proof (read already wrecked) one i go home in and another one i keep in a locked compound a long way away..
bless our little "children".. he he he
