It's a great little unit, far superior to the Nuvi 310 which I had a week...A few things :
* The screen on the 910 isn't as easy to see in sunlight, so I've purchased a 'hood" off an Ebay seller in the US, should solve that problem.
* I was under the impression that the Australian voice was Text To Speech, but it appears he's just a human voice, the TTS are the American and English ones - unless someone can tell me different.....
* I've downloaded some satellite imagery from the Tom Tom CD included for Australia - how do I view it though ?
* I want to maybe add an extra shopping centre or rename some of the POI's that are built into the Tom Tom 910 - how ? I can't do it via "Manage POI's" cause that's only for the custom ones that've been loaded...
* Does anyone know how you can get the speed display to show you're over the limit (and also the limit for the road you're on) - is it dependant on whether or not the maps have the limits built in ?
* I've got TT Home and updated, have 6.522 for software and the latest Aussie maps. It's much quicker than the Nuvi in drawing the screen, and I've customised the menus (with a software program available, Google it !)....does 6.522 signify that I'm using Navigator 6 ? I saw somewhere you can navigate to a 'contact' - or is that just for the PDA/Phone versions ?
Apart from that, very nice machine. |

I can only answer some of your queryies, as I don't use a 910.;)
4. There is no way that you can Edit the built-in POI's. Generally they are just ignored!
5. Speed Display is covered in Change Preferences | Status Bar Preferences. If you can't find that menu Option you will need to Select Change Preferences | Show All Menu Option.
6. Yes it means it is V6 Software. The Actual Maps will have another number, which is a Map Compilation Number. _________________ Richard

Satellite view
On my GO710 (Europe) you simply Browse Map and move the right hand zoom slider upwards to zoom out until the normal map changes to a satellite view like Google Earth. But it's a waste of space for the Europe view at least - no detail, just green blob shape. _________________ Dennis
