Thank you for your advice. I tried using the .chk files again with no success. I have now tried using the .ogg file system and this works fine. Just to recap, my TT Navigator version is 5.000(4890) and Iam using Windows PPC version 4.2 on a Mio Digiwalker 339.

Thanks all.

Hi,

I have a WEIRD problem which is occuring on my Tom Tom 510 but only in the last few months. My device has been back to Tom Tom and has come back with the same problem, so I thought I would check to see if it is the data.chk replacement for sounds which could be causing the problem...

If I select "switch to night mode when dark" in the Dock prefs. or when it prompts me when changing to day mode manually, then my 510 always uses night mode even in bright sun shine!

Also, I got fed up with this the other day, so turned off auto switching, and whilst driving along, it suddenly changed to nightmode even though no settings should have allowed this to happen!

The replacement sounds are the ONLY mod I have made to the Tom Tom, so I am wondering if there is a problem with it? OR is it ****ed and I need to send it back to Tom Tom again?

My FW is 6.510

Thanks,

Chris.

It's a software problem. Try to upgrade to 6.522

Hi,

Thanks, but where do I get it from? My Tom Tom home application only offers me 6.520

My friend has 6.522 on his 710 and the replacement sounds do not work as the most uptodate version listed is 6.520

Thanks,

Chris.

Hi Guys Been a while since I have posted on here but thought its time I came back.

I've only just got my Go back after loaning it to a Friend for a couple of months so thought it was time that I updated it so I have downloaded the Voices successfully from Ray site in the Ogg format.

I tried the other voices on the site and I have noticed that the Warning Sound has gone, The one that made me jump out of my pants I mean before the spoken voice warning.

Now is this something that has been eidited out or is it a setting I have done??

Ive looked through the postings but cant seem to find the answer to the question.8O

If anyone can assist I will be grateful!

Thanks in Advance

Hi

Does anyone know when the new voice files for 6.522 will be released, as the latest version listed is 6.520?

Regards
Simon

Thats the one Mike

My head must in the clouds when I downloaded it from here!

Many thanks........it does make me jump when the warning goes off so i guess its a good thing to some extent.

Might even have a go at doing the others so i have the option of the warning or not as well as the spoken voice

Post the files Dan. Others may want Vicky with a siren.

Not be greedy but I would like all three with and without the Siren.....plenty of choice then.

Going to Try Liz with the Lower Siren today will let you know what I think, see how high I jump this time
