I have purchased a Sandisk 1gb and 2gb SD card and would like to know if anyone can advise how I upgrade both my Tom Toms. I tried copying all data from Tom Tom One disk to 2gb Sandisk but when I inserted into my TomTom One it advised I needed to take out and insert another disk presumably because it did not recognise the new one.

Any help would be really appreciated as I am a complete newby to this sort of thing.

Many Thanks

Karen

Copy all the files from the original cards in two separate directories on your PC (make sure that the hidden files are shown), then copy them to the new cards.

Hi

I thought I would try the TomTom One V2 first. I have show all hidden files selected and have used select all from the root directory to copy all files to a folder. I then used the same process to copy from foleder to SD card. The files copy over no problem but when inserted into the TomTom One I get a picture with a cross through the disk and a pair of hands removing it. I have done this several times now with the same outcome.

Any other advice or is this a new problem with Tomtom One v2?

Karen

Is there a quick way of printing this or will I have to type out individually. Do you also want sub directories.

Thanks

Hiya

I have finally got a listing of the filse on the new disk and have saved it as a txt file. When I try and copy and paste into a reply here it will not allow me to submit it says the html tags are not allowed.

How can I paste the list here for you?

OK, got it. You seem to have all the necessary files there. All I can suggest is that you re-format your new card and copy only the following files onto it:

data.chk
system
ttsystem
voices
United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland

I've created a 510 SD for you - try re-formatting the card again and copy all the files from the archive I've sent to to you.

Hiya

Thanks very much for this but I have not even attempted to upgrade the 510 yet. The one we have been looking at is the Tomtom One V2. Should I just give this one up as a bad job?

Many thanks
