tomtom maps, how do you deactivate a map?

i have just bought a tomtom one v2 europe, and ive activated a map i also wish to use with the unit. the unit played up so i returned it to the supplier and they exchanged it, great.

i then put my other map in it and wanted the activation code, no problem will get it from the website www.ttcode.com, but it tells me the map is registered to the unit that was faulty. it does not give me an option to deactivate it, so how can i use my other map?

you can use the same product key to activate on a second device after 7 days, and then every half year. There is no way to deactivate.

Is this positively correct?
I am in a similar situation. I have recently downloaded and activated a new map on my TT500. But this unit has just been damaged and is in for repair. I would like to use the new map in my TT300, but it will not let me activate the map in the TT300.
Will be able to activate it in the TT300 after a week, as lbendlin suggests?

Problem solved!
As you suggested Andy, I was able to reactivate the new map to my TT300 after 1 week had passed.
No, I will be ok when my TT500 is repaired as I have two (1GB/133) SD cards, one for each.
