Had to create a splash screen for a work friend after telling him I could personalise his 700 only to find that I couldn't find any SAAB splash screens.
Here it is for any SAAB 93 owners.

Have you tried the SplashGenerator if you aren't happy making one yourself? |

Save image as: splash.bmp in the tomtom folder on the sd card |
Are you sure? On my Go300 it has always been saved onto the root of the card (i.e. not in any folder). |

As you will see by my questions, I am an absolute novice.
But all the same I would like to have a go at making my own splash screens.
Couple of questions.
1 Does it matter if the original photo you use is Landscape or Portrait?
2 Once I have made a few of these and want to keep them in a folder for future once, what do I name them as?
Do I name them splash1.bmp, splash2.bmp and so on? until I decie to use them, and then remove the number before loading on the ttgo.
As I said I'm a complete novice, having not tried anything like this before.
Any help or advice greatly appreciated.
Ridicule with some help is fine. |

Guthix, no problem, we all had to start somewhere
1. What shape or size you start with doesn't matter, but YOU have to resize/reshape it in a "paint" program, so that the image is the exact shape and size required by the time you save it as splash.bmp (or splashw.bmp for the widescreen models). (Having said that, I think the 910 model at least has some resizing option built-in).
There is also an on-line splashscreen creation program HERE that you might like.
Also there are loads of ready made ones on this and the other TT forums.
2. Yes you can store as many as you like (call them anything you like too) and just rename the one you want. |
