Bloomin' Heck.
Sorry for repeating you there, Darren.
Doing five things at once here ( including dodgy DIY ) so by the time I finished typing, you'd been, done, moved on, made a coffee, drunk it, had a nap......

OK I am beginning to find my way araound the TT 910. I have onother question however...
What I would really like to be able to do is this;
1. Fire up an application on my Apple Mac which allows me to set up a route, the way I would like to go.
2. Save the file for future use.
3. Copy this file to my TT 910 as waypoints, or in some way that the TT will naviagte me along the orute.
Anyone know if this is possible with a Mac and the TT?
Thanks

There is no PC or Mac software that does this. You can however create an Itinerary on the 910 and save this for future use. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Not that allows you to pre-plan routes unless you are referring to the emulator facility which isn't Mac compatible anyway. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Darren,
I can't confirm the functionality for Tomtom as I use Navman but the fact that I can use my Navman desktop software on my iMac by using Parallels virtual machine may be of some use.
Does anyone have an Intel-based Mac running Parallels that could test the Tomtom stuff is as it would solve some of the problems in this thread?
Parallels is a "virtual" system that contains any other operating system, like Windows XP, in a separate window on the Mac but which behaves just like a real PC. You can load all your favorite Windows programs on your Mac and use them close to seamlessly.
I know that this will likely lessen the chance of getting a "true" Mac product but if enough Mac users shout, Tomtom may listen and provide a "proper" Mac software package.
Naturally I have no connection with Parallels but it got rid of my "switcher" qualms when I moved over to the Mac.

I'm using a Macbook here, both Parallels and Boot Camp work well in this scenario, the PC version of HOME runs and is able to see the GO fine. However my point was that the question was regarding desktop software that allowed pre-planning. HOME does not in my opinion fulfil this requirement, all it is a remote window showing a larger screen of your connected device. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Agreed Darren, I am looking for something that provides waypoint mapping functionality, similar to this software, which only seems to support Garmin devices at the moment;

Unless, of course, others here know different!

I have just done a little more 'digging' and I note that over at the forums for the RouteBuddy site they are stating that they intend to support TomTom's in the future;
At Apple expo Paris many Mac users asked us for compatibility with TomTom and Mio devices which we understand can transfer Waypoints in both directions. So we do not see it as a problem for RouteBuddy to work with TomTom GPS devices in the future Quote: |
Maybe they will announce something this Expo? Here's hopeing...
