Rather than a query regarding reception issues, has anyone experience of both systems with regard to the quality, reliability and consistancy of each companies serice? Either with a working PND system, inbuilt car system or dedicated device. I'm still trying to decide between TT910 and Nuvi660, and yes, I've read practically everything published on PND reception issues.
Many thanks

Having used TomTom Traffic via GPRS and the RDS-TMC unit as well as the Garmin RDS-TMC I can offer the following:
When comparing the RDS TMC units the Garmin is a far better product offering traffic reception more reliably than the TomTom unit, but even so there are times when no signal coverage leaves you without any data.
The best and most reliable method for connection is GPRS using your mobile phone, this works with the TomTom but attracts additional cost in way of annual subscription and GPRS traffic costs.
The other thing to consider is the level of information provided as the two systems use information provided by two different suppliers. The TrafficMaster (Garmin) is my choice for reliable information, although its fair to say the ITiS (TomTom) service is much better these days than it used to be - Mike |

Thanks for your reply Mike. Your comment about TM being more reliable bears out the research I've done so far. I used TT traffic for a couple of years when it first came out, but then gave it up as it proved (in my experience) unreliable. I must admit I'm leaning now towards the Nuvi 660 with a possible ariel modification if required. _________________ Go740L App 9.510 Europe 985.8155
