Has anyone had problems loading the full 215mb map of France as I keep getting a message "disk access problem" then it kicks me out. |

No problems - I have the full map on a 256mb sd card (on an ipaq 3850).
I use an sd card reader to transfer the maps.

Would be interested to know where you obtained the French map as I am thinking of getting one myself.

My problem is, that I'm going to France in a weeks time. Don't suppose anyone has a WORKING copy of the 2.CAB file from the \nvfr\map\france directory that I could grab to get this working? |

If someone just gave you a copy of the file, it wouldn't do any good unless you had activated your Pocket PC for TomTom Navigator 2 France or any country version of TomTom Navigator 2 and the European maps package. I've only bought and activated TomTom Navigator 2 UK on my Pocket PC, so none of the France maps will work on it as it stands.
However, that said, it is always a good idea to be very careful what you do in copying files from other users.

Hi All,
This might sound like a really silly question..........
Do you have to be in the other country to actually view its map>?
i.e if i load all of france onto my sd card, do i have to wait until i get into france/calaise before i switch maps.?
or is it possible to browse the france map (without gps etc) from the uk, this way i will be able to check all is ok re loading etc, before i get there... :D
(dont really want to get to france and find ive installed incorrectly etc)
p.s i have NAV 2.24.6
Thanks

No you can look at the french map by selecting it and add favorites etc before you go.
Make sure you activate the western europe set before you leave for france as you won't be able to use them until you have! |
