|
|
I have loaded the POIs from MaFt and camera database from PGPSW. Whilst the camera icons show when approaching a camera site, images for the POIs have never been seen. Should they ever be seen on the i3, or are they wasting space on the unit?
I also have bought a c510 as a present and have loaded the same POIs and camera info - a quick drive into town showed all symbols for adjacent POIs as I passed them (B&Q, Starbucks, etc).
I used the express mode of installation using the garmin POI loader.
Would using the manual option in POI loader help?
Any suggestions please? |

On the I3 have you gone in to WHERE TO & picked which POIs you want to show up?
The speed camera ones always show up but the others need to be told to show. _________________ Garmin I3

As Powerlee says the i3 only shows POIs when they are either set as a destination or have some sort of proximity or speed information. Most POIs for Tesco, etc don't have this information. |

Thanks for replies.
So if I select a POI as a destination the tesco logo should be shown instead of the finish flag or as well as the flag? I seem to remember only seeing the chequered flag...?
I'll try doing a manual load with the POI loader and set some proximity alerts - will this set off the boing boing I get with the speed cameras or just simply show the icons on screen as I get within range - only really need the boings for alerting traffic cameras - unless it's a different boing, distinguishable from the traffic camera boing....
Otherwise, v happy with my i3 - unless driving in London, where the signal was rubbish - too many trees / high buildings I think. |

Not really had much of a play around with the POI's & I dont really use the I3 much unless im going somewhere new.
For the bad London signal issue, £10 & a visit to a Maplin store will get you a external antenna that just plugs in, A47 FH rings a bell as the model number, also has a very long lead on it to.
Must be good because with it I can get a good signal inside the house _________________ Garmin I3

older firmware used to show the poi icon as the 'finish point' but for the last 5 or 6 releases it only shows the flag.
if you select a destination and click on 'view map' you can see poi's near by - this is the only time you will see the poi icons on the i3 unless you set them all with proximity alerts - but be warned you bong will bong get bong bong fed bong up bong of bong bong all bong the bongs bong bong especially bong when bong you drive bong bong bong though a bong bong city bon center bong bong!
