But hey what service! 4 days turnaround & no charge on an out of warranty unit

Don't forget that the standard warranty for all Garmin product is 2 years and not only one!
But in any case, Garmin is really taking care of his customers.
THANKS GARMIN

Sorry to disagree, but my i3 paperwork clearly says one year.

Very strange indeed In France the standard Garmin warranty duration is 2 years .
I was even able to "buy" a third year for 15 euro (about £10) at EME (Garmin French dealer).
I am not sure i will keep it until the warranty expires..... 8O

Jamas
I didn't notice your profile, it seems like you get a better deal in France :o
It does drive me mad sometimes the way companys offer different deals in different countrys, like not being able to get city navigator unless you buy it as part of a kit in the UK, and yet you can get it on it's own in the US
What makes you say that you doubt that you will keep it?

Well, I agree that Garmin are one of the better companies. I sent them my out of warranty GPSMAP 60CS for a new screen, I scratched the old one. I was told there would be a £40 ish charge to replace the screen and they would also check it over thoroughly.
Within a week it was back, good as new, invoice stated FOC ! Who else would do that?
