Here you can read and write reviews about your SatNavs and accessories. You can also comment on the reviews of other users.
Whilst user reviews can form an important part of your research, you must be aware that individual reviews are often the opinion of the user for a particular product used in isolation and may not reflect fair comparisons to other products. Please click here for official PocketGPSWorld.com reviews. _________________ Robert Brady

These are not my personal reviews,
Lab Winner TomTom GO 510 is “a joy to use” according to magazine MacUser
The test team of MacUser was very impressed by the TomTom GO 510. Their verdict: “The TomTom GO 510 is a joy to use: the screen is excellent in all lighting conditions, the interface is well designed and its directions are clear and easy to follow…This is a dedicated, unapologetic cars-only GPS…the TomTom team has produced a first-class product that was never bettered on the rest of our trip. It quickly gets a strong fix on the satellite constellation, speaks only when necessary, and would be a welcome addition to any dashboard. As such, it’s our Lab winner.”

TomTom GO 510, the Editor’s Choice of PDA Essentials
PDA essentials created an expert satnav buyers’ guide to show you the way around in satnav land. Their verdict was clear about the GO 510: “We say: superb PND with widescreen display.” For this reason the TomTom GO 510 became the Editor’s Choice and got awarded 9/10!

TomTom is officially cool
CoolBrands, the annual listing of leading cool brands, announced that TomTom, Europe’s leading personal in-car navigation solution provider, is included in their latest list. As an initiative from the Superbrands organisation, CoolBrands identifies the coolest brands, people and places in the UK. TomTom is included for the first time in the prestigious book, and more importantly appears as the only satellite navigation provider listed.

TomTom’s new GO range awarded with the T3 Hall of Fame award
“When a company’s name becomes synonymous with a gadget product type there’s only one place left for it to go – into the T3 Hall of Fame. TomTom’s top-end satnavs: we salute you!” The T3 reporter’s statement leaves no doubt: “I’ve just had an exclusive preview of the new GO, and…it’s bloody good…The TomTom is no more ‘just a satnav’….like all my favourite gadgets, I can pimp it, customize it, twiddle with it”. To wrap it all up: “The GO family remain kings of the road”.

There is certainly likely to be big differences between official reviews and those of ordinary users. My purchase of an Evesham BM6380 was strongly influenced by a glowing five star review in computeractive magazine. In practice it was a truly awful piece of kit.

How very true. I've yet to see what could be regarded as an honest review in any non specialist magazine. Often they have simply re-hashed the press release and I wonder if they ever actually had one to test! _________________ Darren Griffin
