You really need to take time out to back up your 910 fully to the computer before any more damage is done. I appreciate that isn't what you want to hear but it is intended as sound advice.
Dock your 910 to the PC and using Windows Explorer have a look in the Western_and_central_Europe folder, is the file POI.dat there or not? if it is the file size should be 39,668KB.
If its really gone I would suggest you contact TomTom and see if they can offer you a download link to recover the file, at nearly 40MB its too large to e-mail - Mike |

You could copy the POI.dat file from another device, I am sure there would be nothing wrong in doing this as that file can only be used with a 910 IIRC it contains POI for the whole of Europe - Mike |

POI.dat is the file, but the Go-910 uses a different POI file than that supplied with the other devices, as its European map is different to the other machines in the range - although you could take a POI.dat file of a TT One and it will work, it will only cover the UK though - that file is around 5MB - MB |
