If you bought it after the V9 release date i.e. 1st Sep 2006, I understand the upgrade will be free. _________________ Garmin I3 October 2006

Still no order process available to my unlock code.
Does Garmin still have issues on their databases?

Hugo, as I said above, it worked fine for me last night. I put in my seven digit code from the yellow slip, and it knew my unit details and my address. You have previously registered your unit with the website I suppose?

The Garmin website says "If you purchased a locked MapSource product ON or AFTER the release date of an update, you are entitled to an unlock on the newer version of that product for free." The release date for City Navigator Europe NT is shown as Sep 01, 2006. See HERE for more details. _________________ Anita

Hi Phil,
i have ideia that i've done a mistake during the registration process.
I've register my Software (with the Unit S/N - another mistake) and not Unit.
I think that's the reason i cannot find no update available.
I've sent an email to Garmin in order to solve this question where i explained all that i mentioned earlier.
Let's wait for their answer. |

Yes. I ordered the DVD via the Garmin website on 13th Dec, and received e-mail confirmation of the order. Delivery is expected within 7-10 business days once it's available and shipped, which could mean anything! _________________ Anita

gav, I've used your e-mail link to send the instructions I received from Garmin for ordering the DVD and unlocking the maps. I followed these instructions to order the disk. _________________ Anita

Hi all, I am another long long time lurker, first time poster.
After trying since the first post a few days ago and failing for the last time at 17.30 GMT today.
I thought one more try and success at 21.30 GMT I was able to order the update by using the 7 digit Master Coupon Code.
All I have to do now is wait for the postie and pay.
And finally a great big thank you to all of of you who post and give all this help to the lurkers. :D :D |

I received my unlock code from Garmin early this afternoon.
Their e-mail gives a set of instructions on how to unlock mapsource - they provide the unlock code only if you registered a new unit after 1st Sept 06.
After completing the unlock process I checked for software update (help icon) and updated the mapsource program to version 6.11.6 (previous version was 6.11.5) which is a 43.7mb download.
I can't see anything that tells me that I have Version 9 or how to then transfer this to the Nuvi. Has anyone managed to get further?
Garmin's instructions make no reference to being sent a disk or to wait until receiving a new mapsource disk. |
