|
|
Hello all.
After some talk at work regarding Tom Tom traffic I decided to look around to see if there was some way I could get my wirelessless Mio 168 to pick up Traffic reports and then I found the above adaptor.
I have been reading around some of the questions concerning the reliability of GNS FMS TrafficBox RDS TMC Adapter for Mitac Mio 168 GPS.
I have been to the GNS website and looked at the supported navigation programs and it does not mention Tom Tom anywhere.
I have questions - Firstly does anyone know if the adaptor works with the Tom Tom 6 software, How well does the system work or is it just a waste of money. |

TomTom only support RDS-TMC on their GO range - they do not support it on their PDA software, which I think is the version you would run on a Mio 168. |

Ah, that sucks, and something I had not even considered. I think the answer is to sell the Mitac Mio and go for the TomTom Go which is under £200.00 now anyway.
A mate at work has bought one and subscribed to the TomTom Go traffic, but my worry is the cost of the download using GPRS to update the traffic.
Thanks for the reply. |

Don't forget a £200 GO will only be able to use the GPRS service (which will incur a charge to TomTom and a charge for the GPRS data) - you'll need to spend more than that for RDS-TMC traffic on a GO. |
