- particularly if you use Mio's own camera database.
Cameras are increasingly being sited in 20mph areas, but if you are using camera display on a Mio C510, C710 etc then be very careful in these areas.
Comparing the latest available PGPSW and Mio databases, I find that of 34 cameras shown by PGPSW as being 20 mph, exactly half are missing entirely from the Mio database. Worse, of the 17 that are shown by Mio, 11 are wrongly marked as 30 mph - which could lead you into trouble!
There is a deficiency in MioMap which means that cameras cannot be displayed or warned at any speed less than 30. If you are using the PGPSW database converted with Speedcams Builder, then you will find that 20mph cameras are shown as "No Limit". This is the best that can be done at present. I have put a note about this in the Speedcams Builder sticky.

Though I have driven extensively in the UK, I have yet to encounter a 20 mph speed limit. Where are they?

Hi Peasemold
Down here in Truro/Cornwall we have plenty - one is in the road leading to the school my children attend. And who exceeds the 20 limit - parents going too and from the school with children in their cars !!
Just outside the school car-park is a roundabout with the usual cross-hatchings on it for a school and, despite several requests from the Headteacher, parents park on it every day. regardless of how much space is left in the carpark!!
cheers

Before long, any non A or B road in London will be 20 MPH. Many of them are already. _________________ Gone fishing! |
