This is under their blowout clearance store. Any idea as to the completeness of box contents...? Usually their blowouts include returned and incomplete items. |

With over 140 in stock I suspect they've bought a job lot which in itself poses a few questions;
Are Navman clearing stock cheaply?
If so is it because they are in trouble as previously suggested?
As I've said on the N20 thread, the mapping is brilliant on these units so grab a bargain!.

I'll call them on Monday AM to see if they are complete. If they are I'm getting a few! _________________ TTG 720

Bummer. Couldn't you prise one out of them at the low price, for bringing it to their attention? _________________ Tim |

If you read Mojo's earlier post, he was ringing them with a view to buying a few, after ascertaining their completeness. _________________ Tim |

Yeah - I called them and asked them if it comes with everything for £163 inc VAT as the description was non existant. They had a look and said it's been put in the wrong place and was in the process of being changed.
DId ask them if I could have it at the £163 inc VAT price and they said no and anyone already buying one would have the order rejected...
When I went to check one out it was £245 + VAT anyway. _________________ TTG 720

I have already placed my order at £163. Do they have any legal right to reject it? It bought it for what they were offering and I have got a printout as well. |

There is probably an E&OE disclaimer somewhere. _________________ Tim |

I am NOT a lawyer but under the sale of goods act, if I remember rightly, the contract only exists when the seller agrees to the sale. ie the seller makes an offer - the buyer offers to buy then the seller agrees to sell. I have not put that very well but that is the gist of it.
If a seller makes a mistake in the price of goods for sale, you cannot insist on being sold the goods at the marked price. However, part III of the Consumer Protection Act 1987 makes it a criminal offence for the seller to give misleading information about the price of goods, such as displaying a lower price than the price charged or suggesting what is expected to happen to the price (for example, "Going up in the Budget"). In such circumstances, you should, contact our local Trading Standards Department, which is responsible for enforcing criminal matters.

It's happened before in other companies. I believe Argos listed some expensive TVs at a very low price once by mistake. Cancelled loads of orders in the end. _________________ TTG 720

Yes,
My order that I placed on Saturday has been cancelled today, the only reason that was given was that they had no stock.
Now we know that's not true as they had 142 when I ordered & their web site said stock had been allocated.
They obviously made a mistake, or changed their mind, with the price but I for one will not order from them again |

I am no lawyer, however you will probably find the opening few posts of this discussion provides them with the defence the initial price offered was an obvious mistake. They are therefore clear of any misleading adverstising claims. |
