Great work you did!
Would it be possible to change your code so that it would work for other files than the English_British_.vpm as as well?
I have a Garmin Quest2 unit which does not use .vpm but .rgn files. However, I might be capable to change the file format from .rgn to .vpm by deleting the first 60 bytes of the file (please see
http://www.gpspassion.com/forumsen/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=55116 ).
And maybe next be able to use your nice program.
Please let us know if you will update your program enabling the extraction of other files than theEnglish_British_.vpm

I have one of the newer i3 units, where the map data is stored on the T/F Card.
Can I still change the voice prompts with this type of unit as when I place the card into the card reader there are only 2 files, and no folders on it???? |

I wonder if Ash has shrugged and gone back to other projects? Some of the posters in this thread sometimes gave the impression of being a little disrespectful towards his efforts.
That would be very unfortunate, as I'm sure there are thousands of non-tech i3 users who would be very grateful for his expertise. I'm certainly one of them - the camera manager utility is a godsend, for example.

There is a new POIloader Beta version at the moment and it allows for the use of wav files for sounds

i have made a tool which should split and merge VPM file of any language with correct pointer tables.

as far as i am sure, it works for C510 and c550, but i can successfully split and merge (for instance) sp2720 files of any language.
People have said the nuvi language files are the same as 510/550.
So it maybe worth a try if the 330 is matching as well. |
