Dear Tim Buxton (I can't PM you for some reason, so this has to be public),
Thanks for locking a thread in the NEWS forum... And my posting in the Nav Forum.
Surely a post relating to ALL TomTom products made in the Go/Rider/One forum is the one that should have been closed?
I presume that you own one of these items and are therefore arrogant enough to assume that every TomTom owner does... Presumably you don't consider Nav owners worthy of knowing this information... or that you expect Nav owners to look in the WRONG forums to see news relevant to their product?
What is the mod's facination with locking threads that are appropriate to their forum? Instead of acting like the Third Reich why not consider the best interests of the users of these forums?
For anyone wondering what this is all about, TomTom have introduced a new Map shop today in which owners of NAV 5 and NAV 6 can check to see if an upgraded map is available. Unfortunately people representing this site consider this news only worthy of comment if you DON'T own Nav 5 or 6... stupid is as stupid does.[/u] _________________ iPhone 4/4S (iOS 5.1.1); TomTom Western Europe (1.10)/USA & Canada (1.10); CoPilot for iPhone (8), UK mapping, Mac OS 10.8/XP Pro/Win7; Tongue firmly in cheek! |

I have sent you a PM, explaining the rationale behind my actions. If you cannot receive the PM I can also post the reply here. _________________ Tim |

Tim,
I appear to have been successful in sending a PM this time around (phew!).
Publically, I'd like to apologise for the silly Reich comment, which served only to obscure some valid points. I hope the moderators WILL consider what is useful information to other users of these forums, rather than considering what is of use to themselves...
P.S. I'll make more use of the News area, but I for one probably wouldn't have checked that forum for news on Nav map updates - I have my hands full causing offence in just this one! _________________ iPhone 4/4S (iOS 5.1.1); TomTom Western Europe (1.10)/USA & Canada (1.10); CoPilot for iPhone (8), UK mapping, Mac OS 10.8/XP Pro/Win7; Tongue firmly in cheek! |

As this thread appears to be a[nother] private battle between bedbug and the admins/mods of these forums (who personally I think do an exceptionally good job under sometimes very trying circumstances), might it be appropriate to lock it and continue the battle in private? |

eillo7, the discussion has ended, weapons have been holstered and the ceasefire has been agreed. We move on, but not via this vehicle as it has been clamped. 8) _________________ Tim |
