They do contradict themselves though...
"With the addition of 40,000 kilometers of new roads, 18,000 Points Of Interest and 7,000 new roundabouts in Europe in the last six months alone"
OK, so these are new maps.
"The maps included in the TomTom GO 910/710/510, TomTom ONE Regional/Europe (New Edition) and TomTom NAVIGATOR 6 devices are already up-to-date."
OK, so these are *not* new maps, merely v6 maps for other devices, and the statement above is erroneous (I got my 910 about 6 months ago).
Of course the other question is.. if they haven't changed the maps since the release of the 910 what the heck was the delay? |

They have probably waited this long before releasing new maps to try and encourage people to buy the x10 range rather than waiting for the new maps. I would suggest waiting until the next updated maps come out, Then again they'll probably not be released until 2008! |

Come on guys wise up. Christmas is coming.
How many people out there are hoping for a x10 series to come flying down the chimney. That isn't going to happen if the buyer realises, er, hang on a minute, these are out of date and it is going to cost xxx amount to get upto date maps, unless of course TomTom adopt the christmas spirit and hand them out at the shopping malls. As for that i think we have more chance of getting a w**k off the fat red man himself. |

Nazim, as I understand it, you already have the "new" maps on your TT1 v2

If you've already got a 6.5 or 6.6 map then by inputting your Prod Code you will get the following message:
We advise you not to update your map. You already have one of the most up-to-date maps available (version 6.5 or 6.6). However, you can select maps of other countries or continents. |

OK. So I've been waiting for this map since May. I've got a nice voucher for a free update. So I've (at last) got into TT website and gone to get my free download. So I order it and use my promotion code, then go to the checkout and do the pay (£nothing) and get an order confirmation ... thus ...
Quote: | Dear Mr. X,
We have received a positive authorization of your payment made for order number nnnnnn.
If you want to check the status of your order please do not reply to this e-mail.
Instead visit http://support.tomtom.com/uk
Go to My TomTom in the column on the left hand side.
Insert your e-mail address and password.
Choose Orders and you will find a list of the orders you placed in the TomTom mail-order store.
When you double click the order number you can view all details of that order.
Kind Regards,
TomTom Mail-order department

So when I go to look at my order it says two things
1. Status - Waiting.
2. Shipping status - Shipped.
Every time I do a download (e.g of the cameras database), when I say "Go" the download happens. So what's all this C*** about "Waiting" and "Shipped" and "Mail Order"??
I'm guessing that I shall now have to connect to TT Home and check for updates (when I did so half an hour ago, before doing all this ordering business it said no updates available). Whereupon if I'm lucky, I'll get the new map BUT ALSO the new software including the dreaded speed limits that I DO NOT WANT. Grrr!!
I did another full backup half hour ago, so if it happens as I guess, I wonder if I'll be able to revert to previous software whilst retaining new map?
Here goes ... _________________ Dennis

When you select Navigator 5 and Western European map on TomTom site, it says
"Installation requires you to use TomTom HOME on your computer. Click here for more information on TomTom HOME."
When you look up TomTom HOME it says not compatible with Navigator 5.
So can we use it on older devices or not? Does anyone know please?
