Just a quick reminder to watch the show at 19:15Hr - I wonder if they "blow up" any units this time, or drive off a cliff? - Mike |

I would have liked to see the Garmin used on the road test; couldn't see the sense in eliminating it before they even got moving. Picking a destination that had moved demonstrated to Joe Public that you can't expect these things to be up to date. (Something we all know too well on here!)
The taxi test was fun, don't know to how the guy found it so easy using maps while driving, I suspect he knew the city quite well but I noticed they didn't show him driving and reading at the same time (for obvious reasons), which is what you'd probably end up doing.
The conclusions from my point of view were fair enough in that the difference between sat navs and good map reading is probably marginal but the sat nav is the less stressful option. Also of course sat navs need more development before they can get anyway near perfect.
At least is was a better comparison than the Trevor McDonald feature which made use of a rally co driver as a passenger, something not a lot of us have access to. |

What they did show was him starting off without checking for other road traffic. I saw a car attempting to overtake the park taxi have to slam its brakes on as the taxi pulled away without consideration for other road users... (And they didnt cut it :D ) _________________ Mike Barrett |

They really must have given him extensive training in being a professional cab diver |
