Thank's for yet another kind offer Tomthumbtom.
The GTM 12 Garmin sent works fine until I put it in my car, then I get no signal.
I have documented on this site how I had A GTM 11 so I can swap it to other vehicles rather than a fixed unit, I then found it will not work without an external aerial in my car.
I had to go to Unique car radio people in lightwater and get an aerial splitter and aerialfakra connector to fit to the GTM 11.
I went to great lengths on the phone to explain to Garmin that I can only use the GTM 11 with an external aerial in my car and also went to some length to explain the same in the letter I sent with the returned GTM11.
So sending a GTM 12 that will not work in my own car is not a lot of good.

Connecting the GTM 12 via my Laptop and trying it in my wifes car it works fine, but in my Merc it's the same as the GTM11 fitted with 3 metre wire aerial. NO SIGNAL, due we believe to all round heat reflective windows.
Hang the aerial out the window and it works , but as said , that is not to practical when driving.
