No, it is not a common fault (as far as I know). is yours still covered under warranty? If not, try contacting www.ipaqrepair.co.uk and ask if they can help. _________________ Lutz

I have a copy of a posting that i found on a Pocket PC site and thought I would keep for future reference. I can remember the source of this but hopefully it will be helpful:-
"Here's an update on the falling rubber grips of the H2200 series. According to Boston Pocket PC .com, HP has a fix available for your H2200 series if your rubber grips happen to fall off.
HP has a new "plastics kit" to replace the rubber grips o-n the iPAQ 2215. As you know, there has been an issue with the qrips falling off and/or separating from its plastic frame. I have learned that o-ne can call HP and request part #349036-001 that wíll fix the problem.
Glad to see this issue being resolved quickly by HP. " _________________ TomTom Go 520, HTC Wildfire with CoPilot Live Premium UK & CoPilot Live Standard USA |

Did it cost you anything ? One of my 2210's side arms are pretty loose now, so I'm going to have to get some replacements soon. |

Just spoke to HP - they won't send the kit out unless an arm is broken or lost (they told me they were dirct replacements so if they're loose now they'll still be loose after being replaced). This is "a known problem which they apologise for" ie cop out..

Sods law, walking through town today with my iPAQ out watching my progress and after popping into several shops, on the return journey back to the car I find I'm missing the left hand side grip
These always tend to come off for me when I take the iPAQ out of the case and I know I did take it out of the case three or four times. I retraced my steps but couldn't find the blighter, probably some kid has picked them up.
Just tried calling the warranty line but it's not automated and they're closed, so I'll have to call them now on Monday.
I was thinking the other day, whether it's worth putting some super glue around the lugs on the side grips and on the back of the side grips to help them bond to the sides of the 2210's, but I think the main issue is the cases that HP supply, as the grips are rubber there's obviously quite a friction in pulling them out which manages to dislodge the grips.
I might try it on one of my 2210's and see if I get anywhere with it. |

I phoned up HP about this as my sides are falling off with increasing frequency. On one of them the soft rubbery outer layer has separated from the harder plastic underneath.
HP agreed to send me some replacements. Unfortunately however the next day UPS tried to pick up my 2210!! I hope this is just a mistake as I don't intend parting with my machine!!
