On the TMC bit it displays two options
RAC Live Lifetime subscription and
V traffic not subscribed..
Is the RAC Live the trafficmaster ?
and what is V traffic ?
.
I get green on my the power cable but didnt get any info/warning
display on the screen. Would this be right, I thought it would
show nationwide problems.
.
On the Fastest settings, it tried to route me up a dirt track on my journey into Cambridge this morning.. Do I need to report this to anybody. ?
Still trying to get my head round it all.
.
Many Thanks _________________ Garmin 2569 |

V-traffic is the french TMC service and it works FOC the same as RAC in the UK if you go to france it will just start working unless things have changed.
As a regular holiday and business traveller in France I find it is better and more informative than the British offering most of the time!
If you have a green light you have the signal, to see the hold ups you tap on the icon for the GTM/TMC system to see the liste problems or it will just warn you of any along your route and offer alternative routes.
Due to the mapping some times a bend in a road is given as a turn when other bends are ignored by the system.
The instruction to take the next turn sometimes relate to a bend rather than an actual turn especially on windy country roads, so you need to glanse at the screen to check if the instruction refers to a bend in the road rather than what would be a silly turn.
OR
Fastest route refers to the speed that can be attained on a road if the track had no lower limit than the regular speed limits of the road you would expect to be on it could be a glitch in the Navteq mapping.
You can give feedback if you go on the Navteq web site, take the grid reference of the turn and tell them if you want. That's up to you but it night put it right if there is a glitch, but not for some time. |

That's explained things and I'll take more notice on my next journey into Camb.
Thanks again. _________________ Garmin 2569 |

Couple of more questions please...
On my Co-Pilot I could request Town Centre as a location... Is there an equivlent on the 660 ? Other than a guess at a High Street being in the town.
.
Can you set it to default to England instead of having to manually input the country each time.?
Thanks
