|
|
Hi, I am having problems navigating to a UK postcode, my 710 will not accept the letters in a UK postcode, when I put the numbers in only Nederland postcodes come up, if I explore the contents of my SD card it does show both UK (9.4mb) and Nederland (1.9mb) postcodes. What am I doing wrong? any help most welcome.

I thought the unit used the PostCode file dependent upon where you actually are, so if you are in the UK it will use UK codes, if you are overseas it won't use UK postcodes - where are and does the unit have a GPS signal? - Mike |

Hi, well I am in Luxembourg and if I can only chose the UK postcodes whilst in the UK then that would be the problem, I'll check it out next time I am back in the UK, thanks for the info.

That is certainly the "problem" - a new "improvement" introduced by TomTom with the GOx10 series and now passed on to other models like my GO700 as software gets updated to v6.
Whilst in UK, it will ONLY accept UK postcodes. When anywhere else in Europe it will ONLY accept Nederland postcodes - that was the case when I tested for it in Europe in September. It only has UK and Nederland postcodes and I suppose TT consider that anywhere in Europe cannot navigate across the English Channel. Funnily enough, though, when I tried to navigate to Calais Channel Tunnel terminal POI (from Nederland) it directed me to the Folkestone end!! _________________ Dennis

Hi, thanks for the explanation, I guess it isn't too big a deal, I have got used to navigating here without postcodes anyway, at least I know my TT is working the way TT intended:)
