How is your i3 mounted?

I have mounted my i3 on a mount using one of Mr G's ball's and a piece of fuel pipe. Here are the results! When the unit is off you can hardly see the mount from outside and even then i doubt a thief will know what it is for. What do you think?

Does anyone have any picks of there own methods?

You asked, so I'll tell !
In itself the mount is fine, but from my experience of using I3's the positioning is cr 1 p unless you use an external aerial.
You are likely to lose the signal expecially in built up areas, also the positioning puts the unit way out of your line of sight for when you need a quick look at the screen.
We get far better results to the right of the steering wheel centre, that puts the i3's aerial nearer the roads centre giving clear views to satellites when you have high buildings to the side of the road. Confused

I actually now use a nuvi most of the time but have 3 X i3 as well.
I'm well aware of heated windscreen problems though. I've lent an I3 to my brother and a friend for navigating into and around London when visiting.
I had a call from Bro as he was going around in circles with the I3 constantly telling him to take U turns etc. He'd attached the I3 to central airvent mobile phone mount, he was ok getting along the M4 until he got into heavy traffic and the high city buildings.
After he moved it just to right of the steering wheel centre his problems were solved. My friend from OZ also had the same problem in his hire car.
When my wife use her 206 she's had the same problem driving in city environment. Also a friend went around in circles in Leeds city centre between high buildings in his Toyota. using a similiar central mounting point.
Keeping Satnav away from the side of the A pillar but to right of steering wheel centre so it gets a view of the satellite past the pillar is we've found the best for all round results and it gives a clearer view to satellites when you are between high buidings.
The metal Pillar will not degrade the signal as satnav signal needs line of sight, its not the same as a radio signal but some window coatings can block the signal.

Your mounting LOOKS VERY NEAT BBB999 but if you get some strange routing in a city or high side valley it might be the problem and from experience it is not the ideal position in a lot of other vehicles and could cause problems for those just purchasing a Satnav
