Just bought a Garmin I3 after having enough of carring around a PDA and bluetooth GPS, was using tomtom. Can some one please explain how to enter an address from post cade.
I start of with selecting address
then a get select country.... press the back button to scroll down to england
Enter city or post code....... i enter the post code
enter house numer...... the address does not have one, its a school on its own road. So i enter 0
Then the screwed up part. It then goes up with a road name that it thinks is correct. It's not so i want to manually enter the road name. I have a load of options doen the bottom
They are
start navigating
show map
save as favorite
find nearby
Ahhhh i think find nearby so it takes me back to the begining of enter all the above info but with a title saying find nearby.
I am wondering, is it poss just to enter the post code, the street and then go from their.
Any ideas people???

Can't you just not put a postcode in, type the town/city in, then the street/number in whatever order it is.
You don't HAVE to have a postcode...[/b] |

After you enter England, you enter the town/city then the street name and then the house number.
As IanE said there is no need for the postcode at all if you are not sure of it.
You can easily check postcodes at streetmap.co.uk.

I think he wants to just enter the postcode
I am not familiar with the I3 but on my 2720 you enter the postcode then just hit "done" at the other questions it then takes you to the area of the postcode .

Dont enter 0 just hit done and then it comes up with the road name of which the post code relates to.

You've done everything correctly except the last part. You should select Start Navigating instead of find nearby and it will start navigating. |

Does the road it comes up with exist near the school? Sometimes it doesnt recognise the road you think it should be, but a nearby one. This could be the fault of the person supplying the address ( usually) or the fact that the building or road is newer than the post code database you are using.
