To those already using TomTom 6 - how detailed is the include Europe map with the GB version? Not sure whether to get the kit with the Europe maps included or if the GB version will suffice. Looking for Portugal specifically.
Thanks - Kevin |

Just checked Lisbon on my TTN5 maps and it shows many A and N roads plus other named main roads, but double checking with MS Autoroute, there are quite a few roads missing. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property

If you were to buy TomTom 6 with the maps of Western Europe on DVD you can choose what to install. The map of the UK plus the Major Roads of Western Europe, will give you street level mapping of the UK but not Europe.
I installed the seamless maps of Western Europe which gives you street level mapping across the whole of the UK and Europe. It will just fit on a 1 gig SD card but if you want additional POI's such as speed cameras etc. you will need to delete some of the voice files from within TomTom Home. I removed all of them except for the 2 UK ones. _________________ Graham.

Do the seamless maps of Western Europe give the same detail as the individual country maps?

I am thinking of getting the TomTom Navigator 6 Western Europe + Bluetooth GPS: Is this the best thing to go for? Does it include all the roads of Western Europe as on the DVD which can be purchased or is it just that the main roads are included (in addition to GB) but on a larger SD? |

I believe if you buy the DVD version as opposed to the SD version, you get the choice of maps you wish to install, ie with DVD you can have GB, GB+major roads of Europe or Europe in full detail. With the SD Europe version, you just get Europe in full detail.
Also if you buy the software only, you can choose your own GPS receiver as you may not think the TT receiver is the best. |

I am wondering if to buy the Western Europe maps on DVD and buy the Bluetooth GPS unit seperate - would I be missing anything I would get in the boxed version? with the exception of a SD Card? Just want to make sure I get all the power adapters etc. you get with the full box.

OK! Patience got the better of me!! I've order the Western Europe DVD and the TomTom Bluetooth GPS and will probably install TomTom onto the CompactFlash card in my PDA.
Please still answer on the charging bits though - thanks!

As you say with the Bluetooth version you get the software + Maps of GB+Major Roads on SD card plus the bluetooth unit and power adapters.
With the DVD version you get maps of the whole of Europe fully detailed, but that's all. |

Thanks for the reply. I am expecting the order to be delivered tomorrow but does it come with a charger to use at home in addition to one for in-car?
Thanks,
Kev. |
