In upgrading the software to ver 6, on my Tom tom go 300, all my favs are gone. I do have a backup. Is there a favorite places file that I can restore? Thanks! |

Short answer is no. what you should have done is to save your favourites to a POI file. If you only had a few, you can go into map view select the location of your previous favourites one by one and save as favourite but it is better to save then in a POI file. _________________ Graham.

Thanks! | If you are still using the same Maps, the CFG File should still be in the Map Folder. If it has been deleted TT creates a new one on a restart.
Try restoring it from your Backup. It will have the same name as the Map Folder.
If you change to the V6 Maps, then that is a different thing.
Saving them as a POI Category is a better idea as you can port them to any TomTom Device.;) _________________ Richard

I found the old (countryX).cfg file in my backup, that is not included in the new 6.0 It has a completely different file name (mapsettings.cfg) I moved the old file over, and voila all my favs are displayed in the new listing format! For some reason the application recognizes this old file and ignores the newer one? I wonder if TOM TOM knows any of this? Before the update there should have been a warning about losing the old Favs. Oh well.... all works. |
