Who told you that you need an update?
You have the latest Map and Software installed.
If you install HOME on your PC, then you might be asked to check for any updates.
You might be asked to download a component from TT, for use with HOME, to enable you to have a Virtual ONE on your PC. _________________ Richard

NO extra maps like the Western Europe will work straight out of the box on a V2 cos the firmware needs updating to 6.500 which I don't think TT have thought of yet. |

The SD Card with the Western Maps on also has the App Software on it.
It's a Plug and GO.;) _________________ Richard

I don't think so. The SD card will most likely have application/firmware 6.150 but the V2 needs 6.500. |

To get ANY other SD card map to work on a V2 regional (and I quote):-
Thank you for contacting TomTom Customer Support.
The new Application on the Version 2 TomTom ONE units require some different supporting files on the SD-cards.
Please try the following:
1-Make sure that you copy all the contents of your Western Europe SD-card over to a newly created folder on your PC.
2-Create another folder on your PC and copy all contents over from your new Version 2 GB region SD-card.
Make sure you have backed the data up from both SD-cards before you proceed !!
3-Now view the contents on your Western Europe SD-card and delete all files that are not in folders.
(Leave all folders on the SD-card and just delete all the seperate files around the folders so the folders are the only things that are left on the SD-card.)
4-Now check your new backup folder for the v2 GB-Region SD-card and look for all the seperate files that are not in the folders.
And copy those files to your Western Europe SD-card.
(You do not need to manipulate, delete or copy any folders in the whole process, just the files around them.)
5-Please check functionality of the Western Europe SD-card on your TomTom One unit.
When working properly, it should prompt you for activation for use on your new device.
In short, replace ALL the files (not folders) from you "old" SD card map with ALL the files (not folders from your V2 Regional GB SD card. |
