Mate of mine bought a new tomtom gb from halfords. In the box there where two memory cards. Both are exactly the same GB cards.
I have got a original tomtom one, but the card dont work in mine. It claims that it cant recognise the card.
is there anyway to get the new GB memory card to work with mine? I want it because it has updated maps. |

I'm not convinced it is....
If the friend was really sold TWO, GENUINE cards (even if in error), it's surely up to him if he wants to sell one, or give it away? |

Two memory cards are one thing, does he also have two product activation cards? if not you can only use activate/ use a single card as far I know - Mike |

Irrespective of piracy etc, I'm guessing they're both One V1's in which case you are probably running slightly older firmware cos it did change during manufacture from, I think, 5410 to 5450. Why not just use TT Home to upgrade your firmware to 5450 first then it should accept it. |

Apologies for sounding pompous; just that if I didn't say it I'm damn sure some else would! |

Are these BOTH "old" One V1's you're talking about? |

As a slight aside; in theory, any of the newer SD cards will fire up in any other unit as long as the firmware versions are the same although obviously this is not allowed by TomTom |

Correct, as I found when my son bought the same unit and SD card as mine.
Only thing is, I use a pin number for access, he doesn’t.
Swap the cards and he can obviously access mine, which is troubling!
