I got an e-mail from Navigon yesterday saying that MN6 was available for upgrade. I don't have MN5 so I'm not sure how this works. The full version MUST be out within days. It has to be! By the looks if it, they are using at least Q1 2006 maps, which is pretty significant to me as this map has full Ireland coverage |

I also have received the email for MobileNevigator 6 but it shows the upgrade is for the PNA and not a PDA or PPC??
Does any one know if the PNA version is any different to the PDA Version?
I have emailed Navigon, but as we all know I might or might not get a reply at some time. |

The PDA-version of the will be released in app. 2-3 weeks.
So maybe before November!
What's that expression about right and left hands? |

Seem like they don't know what the hell they are doing at Navigon. They told me end of September/start of October time. Frustrating to say the least! |

For a relatively small company Navigon, have always been terribly disorganised.
I'd like to think that given the disaster MN5 was when it first hit the streets, the delays over MN6 are due to Navigon giving the software a thorough de-bugging this time. Will it launch in November? I'll believe it if I see it. There don't even seem to be any pre-launch, in-depth reviews of MN6 - this suggests Navigon are nowhere near ready to launch it. Navigon have publicised a Loox PNA version but, again, I haven't found any reviews of it, so are Navigon actually shipping it yet?

I don't know.. It's all very worrying.
The more I see of MN6 (which I admit hasn't been a lot, because as you say - no reviews/previews) the less I like the look of it. The map rendering looks just the same as MN5/4.
It must be near completion though or the Loox version wouldn't have come out.
Are there any reviews of the Loox that talk more about the software rather than the hardware? |

Well I don't mind that, although I would like to see street names on the 3D view - strange omission in previous versions.

Ah but my point was that although you can order it, is it actually being shipped yet? |

Who knows, who knows...
One thing I've always liked about the Navigon programs is the fact they speak the road numbers.
"Turn left onto the A14".
Handy.
Anyone found any good reviews of MN6 yet? |

Thanks for the pointer, Viper. Well it looks as though 3D maps still have no street names. I'll be very annoyed if, having waited so long for this, it turns out to be a set of tweaks rather than a genuinely revitalised version. (I currently have MN4 which is a great bit of software but crash-prone on my iPaq H2200.)

I agree, I really like that too.
The days are flying by and still no sign of MN6. MN7 will probably be out before it |

Yeah, it's a great feature.
Noone else does it, and for the life of me I can't figure out why.
Motorway junction numbers would be good too - but NOBODY does that.

CoPilot does it, if you don't mind using the text-to-speech conversion voice. It reads out all road names. _________________ Ian
