|
|
Set off for a meeting in Llangefni, Anglesey this morning starting from West Yorkshire. TT1 found the destination and when I selected to "set as destination" it never did. It did go through the motions.
As I travelled you could see it trying to calculate the route from new start points but it never actually completed the route calculation and kept on doing this. As a test I selected to navigate "home", it did this ok.
I tried different streets in Llangefni but still no joy. It did eventually complete the calculation once I approached my destination.
Can anyone explain this?? Does TT1 not like Anglesey!!??
Other than that everything works fine. This is the first time I have encountered any navigation problems since buying my kit, almost a year ago.
Thanks in advance

Most probably you have found an area that is cut off from the rest of the world (at least the TT1 maps think it is). Therefore the calculation never finished until you got over that gap... TT2 will at least tell you "No navigation possible to destination"
Happens a lot when the destination is in pedestrian zone, behind private roads, or - as in your case, behind bad map data.
maybe someone with TT2 could recalculate that route and see if the problem is still there. _________________ Lutz

Works ok in TT2 - though Llangefni is found under Sir Ynys Mon not Angelsey.

Thanks all!,
Just done a plan route on my TT1, it begins to calculate a bit then comes up with "No route found".
Will probably upgrade to TT2 or even 3!

I think Lutz is right - there were various problems with missing bridges in the Navigator 1 maps.
There's no way to upgrade to Navigator 2 - the upgrade offer for Navigator 1 users closed some while ago (it was a good one too - just 39 Euros). If you want Navigator 2 today, you'll have to buy a new software pack at a little over 100 pounds.
Personally I'd wait to see if there's an upgrade offer for Navigator 1 users to upgrade to Navigator 3. I suspect we'll see Navigator 3 some time in the next six months.
