i think it only shows that message three times...if you want updated maps you will probably have to pay for it ... _________________ *************************** |

If its V7 mapping Garmin should still update for free. check your map version in settings _________________ i3 2.70(went to 2.82,3.0,3.1 but downgraded) with V8 map on microSD card
Metroguide Europe V7 & V8 (routable and indexed)
Metroguide N America V6 (routable and indexed) |

Mine's still nagging me too. I wonder if a reset would make it disappear? |

Hi,
I'm getting the same problem on my i3 (bought in january). It'd got v8 maps and v3.20 software. I'm 'happy' to accept that the maps change over time and I will probably need to either update the unit or get a new one at some point in the future but at present I'd settle for stopping the nag screen!
It's been nagging me every time I switch on for the past week or so. It does not seem to stop after 3 goes (either on 'Tell me more' or 'remind me later'). It really is putting me off this thing. It's as if the nag software was written by TomTom!
Cheers
Jeff |

I did a reset on mine which seems to have banished it for now. I e-mailed Garmin to ask for a solution and got a less than helpful reply (I already have the v8 maps) but it did at least say when the v9 maps will be out.....
Quote: | Thank you for contacting Garmin Europe (UK)
We were giving away free upgrades to version 8 mapping
This has now expired as the newer mapping will be released on the 15 the
january 2007.
We will be sending the cards out next year.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any future problems!
Kindest Regards

Any ideas on cost or how this will work? Do we send in our cards? |

i think the same as the v7 to v8 upgrade paul....send your card and payment to garmin and they send you back the updated v9 card.. _________________ *************************** |

From Garmin Tech Support
Quote: | We do not have a definite date or price yet but we hope the updated mapping
software will be released at the end of this year/beginning of next.
This will come on a DVD which you can load onto a PC and then transfer on to
your unit. |
So at least there will be no "downtime" (i.e. no card). Problem is will it be worth updating the i3 or buying something new with a new warranty? |
