Hi,
I have just downloaded a 'new voice' for my TT5 (Sean Connery). When I go into 'select a voice' option on my PDA I have to choose the 'Danish' option to get Sean Connery to work.
Can I change it so that I choose Sean Connery to have Sean Connery..............or is that too much to ask!!!!

change the number in the filenames to e.g data90.* (I believe the number for special voices must be higher than 75 or so). you need to do that for the chk, vif and bmp. _________________ GO1005

Guys,
Thanks very much for the replies. It appears that I only have two files for each voice (.chk and .vif) the bmp. which you speak about is missing.
I assume the bmp. is the picture/name of the celeb. voice over? If so can I create one? And if so how?
Since changing the 'number' of the files as you discribed it now appears as 'Special 21' on the 'select voice menu' on the PDA. This is much better however, It would be great if I could have a picture/name against each celeb. voice on the PDA.
...........there must be someone out there clever enough!!!
Many thanks

Hi, I've tried this and it works.
Go to this site and download a thumbnail pikkie, http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000125/photogallery-mptv-0.
Then you need to change it from jpg to bmp format. You need a photo application like Adobe or MGI Photosuite to save it as bmp. :D _________________ Paul

Korndog,
Thanks for your reply,
Sorry.....what is a Thumbnail Pikkie.... The .chk and .vif file are both numbered the same for any one celeb. voice. Once converted what name should I give to the bmp. file to ensure that it matchs the correct voice.
Sorry this is all very new to me!!!!!

the thumbnail is just a small sampler that you click on to open up the same picture but bigger. The thumbnail size is just right for what you need. Pick which sean connery one you want, then right click on it and then "save image".
At this stage the picture is a .jpg which is ideal for downloading but TomTom wont recognise it so we need to change it to a .bmp.
If you have some photo editing software then you're laughing if not you're stuffed :D _________________ Paul

oh, i forgot to say, if you do manage to change it to a bmp, you need give it the same name as the data.chk file but with a .bmp extension, ie if the file is data80.chk then you name the picture data80.bmp _________________ Paul

Korndog,
Many thanks its now working!
One last question, the picture is now correct on the PDA however, the word under the picture still says 'special 20' rather than 'Sean Connery'. Is it possible to change? If so how?

Not sure about that, mine says special 20 too. It might not be possible to change the name. Anyway, must dash, time for tea and corrie, :D _________________ Paul
