|
|
Hi,
Have just (2 days ago) bought a Garmin Nuvi 310D, and apparently, it has the facility to show Speed Camera locations.
I have downloaded the POI Loader software from Garmin website, but not installed it yet - I want to see what I need to do first!
What do I need to do to put speed cameras into my Nuvi, is there a guide or anything, I've had a quick look but cant find anything looking through the forums.
Can someone please help and tell me exactly what I need to do?? |

OK,
I've now paid my £2 and subscribed, when I go to database downloading page http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Cameras I click Garmin from drop down box and continue...
(also, theres a message saying "Garmin GPSR database has now been updated yet" - is this a typing error, should it say 'NOT been updated yet' ??........Is there a database available/compatible for a Nuvi 310?)
Then I don't know what option to choose to download!
I have 5 choices:-
UK - Mapsource gdb format (iQue, 60cx etc.)
UK - POILoader i3, Nuvi etc.
UK - Speed Zoned Complete (24 files)
UK - GPSR map overlay (older GPS systems)
UK - Single file with all cameras GPX
What I want is for the location of all camera types (Gatso, Specs, common mobile sites etc. - all of 'em) to be shown and warn me when I'm approaching them.
Obviously, I want to be warned of a camera whatever the speed limit of the road I'm on, not just have warnings for 30mph ones, I want to know whenever there's a camera, whatever speed limit the road is.
Does it just show on the screen, or do you get audio warning you are approaching?
Does it tell you the speed limit of the road you are on at the time?
And whichever file I download, I assume if I use the Garmin POI Loader software from their website, it'll know what to do with the file automatically?? (or have I got to manually put files in the right folders or something? 8O )??
Sorry for all the questions, and you have probably heard them all before, but can anyone please tell me which I need to download?? |

or you can use one that costs less at £19 per year that gets updated on average 3 times per month... and gives you the chance to 'win' free membership.
i'd recommend for the nuvi that you download the poi loader version of the files.
