Hi there,
I just wanted to say that I installed TomTom Navigator 6.000 (7370) on my HP iPAQ hx4700 and it works beautifully.
The VGA display is well suited to this kind of application with the maps looking nice and clear and updating as quickly as needed in standard portrait mode. I use a HOLUX GPSlim236 bluetooth device for the signal.
I have a 512Mb SD card with the GB Plus map and Scandinavia map constantly present. To top it off, I installed the speed camera database from here together with the custom POI sounds.

My 4700 looks good too - but are you able to store and use the 7 digit postcode from the SD card? I can't.... _________________ XDA Orbit (the best so far)

Hi Argosafe,
The post codes work for UK and Sweden although the ones in Sweden don't always match. I think they are stored in a folder called zip on my SD card. For the UK, I think that these files are the ones;
Great_Britain.Postal
Great_BritainPostal.ver
I am using hx4700 ROM 1.10 and firmware 1.10 by the way!
Does this help? |

This sounds great.
Do you know if POIWarner works with V6?
And have you upgraded your HX4700 to WM5? _________________ ----------------------------------------

argosafe, I had similar problem & found it was due to having SD & CF card present in my 4700.
Simply copy the whole zip folder to your CF card, if present & it should start working. |

Stop discussing illegal activities. 7370 is exclusively for Palm Treo 700w _________________ Lutz

Upgrade to WM5 is available from ipaq choice for about £26.
I have heard good and bad reports on the upgrade, so if TTN V6 work without upgrade I won't bother. _________________ ----------------------------------------

My experiance with WM2005 on the ipaq-4700 was short lived, it turned it into a very slow machine - total waste of time, even the suposed fix they brought out didn't work for me.
To be honest if a device is designed and manufactured to work with a specific operating system it will work best with the original OS it was supplied with.
I wouldn't waste a fiver on this, but if you want to throw away £26 its up to you! - Mike |

the first wm5 was slow but the fix workes very well for me. worth the update but do not forget to install the fix!!!
I only have tomtom and my contacts on the ipaq... people has issues when they start installing crappy/ilegal software not designed for wm5 in the first place.
4700+wm5+update+tt6 works very very well - the screen is just beautiful. |

Hi there
Yes, a VGA screen shows Tomtom at its best. I now have the Dell Axim X51v and although I had been quite satisfied with the screen display on my previous Ipaq 2210 I was astounded at the Tomtom display on the Dell.
VGA also gives the impression that the navigation screen is zoomed out slightly with the roads narrower and more to see. Very handy on large roundabouts with many exits, _________________ Tomtom Go 720.
