There is no reason to think the new road missing will be on the next update either - it depends when tele atlas visit and record the data....
The A10 Thundridge by-pass opened 18 months ago and isn't on the ONE v2 map (doesn't stop me using it though!)
There will always be a 12 - 18 month lag on new roads - can't be helped, the ONE is a tool it doesn't need to be followed when new roads are available...
Most paper maps are also out of date - although they can include projections of new roads because they don't direct you to use them if they're not built.
As for £40 for door to door map coverage - the cost of paper maps and A-Z's would be massive if you needed more than a couple. _________________ -----------------------------------------------------------

As a whitevanman I still have a box full of A-Zs, at least 25 of them. The cheapest was a fiver. Since I got a GO300 in May 2005, I haven't bought any more. I still carry them, but have looked at them fewer times than the fingers of one hand.
I still get bemused by new/changed roads. I get really annoyed though to find a "new" road on one of my A-Zs which are all at least two years out of date, when that new road is not on the Tom Tom map (which must also be at least two years out of date). |

So Teleatlas and Navteq are supposed to map every road/junction etc in the UK or Europe in 24hours, pass that info to TT,Garmin, NavMan etc, who in turn immediatly release the products so you can buy it the very next day?
Be real.
Ok, there is the odd occasion where a road is missing for a couple of years (maybe longer for small estate roads) but as there is hundreds of thousands of miles of roads in the UK it takes 100's and 100's of man hours to map all these and modify any changes. This then takes several months to get translated into each providers product and then released. By the time the products are released it could be 18 months since some of the roads were mapped.
You can report map errors to teleatlas of course and at some point they will be updated.
In the future no doubt, we will have a product that we can modify the roads/junctions when we find a new road etc.
