|
|
Hi Peeps,
Ive recently got TTN6 and maps and have used TOMTOM support to no avail!
When planning a route sometimes using my favourites and HOME location you will plan the route home for example....and it will start to work the route out and flash up the map route.....and then immediatly it flashes up the message "No Route Planned" and thats it, i can't plan the route...
It just gives that message every time you want to plan a route....
anyone got any answers or ideas for this?
Greatly appreciated...

Just checking some more things out on this...
it doesn't seem to happen away from my GPS unit, IE if i try and plan the route with it not connected to the cars GPS it doesn't give me that error...
the error is "No Route Found" It also gives a "?" at the top of the screen.
Its like the favourite for Home might be Read Only or something....
bit weird....
Anyone advise? |

Using Ipaq 1950....everything runs fine apart from this..
ive done some further investigations tonite and basically it only does this with the favs or home location if they are located by GPS position!!!
If you put a postcode in or do it via Town-Streetname-Number and then try and plan a route its absolutly fine!
So thats rather interesting... |

When you are entering the GPS position as a favorite are you actually on a road that is on the map? - if not this will confuse the device. I have never seen what you describe, but I have seen off map positions when stored give strange results, where I work is off the map so I only store the access roads to the site, this works fine.
Why not try re-positioning the favorite locations using the view map option instead, place the cursor as close to the desired location when adding the position - Mike |

hi mike,
your spot on....the favs im adding are my own house....which is a new estate and of course isn't on there!
Also my work address isn't on there properly, but ive put the post code in and it now works!
Looks like I will have to do as you say.....funny as never had this problem with my version 5.....
What is the latest version 6 out at the moment by the way? |

BTW can you plan a route when the pda is not receiving a gps signal??
I have my mates 2210 with TTN6 on loan while he is abroad and It will not do that . The only way to pre plan a route is via the "Advanced planning" icon..I am quite impressed with the way the 2210 and TTN6 work together and may now take the plunge and upgrade from TTN3.03 as some of the features in v3 which were lost in v5 are back v6.

The only way you can plan a route without the GPS signal is using Advanced Planning (this should be on the second page of the main menu), if your unit doesn't display this option it could be the owner has installed a custom menu and omitted the following:
TASK_MENU_PLAN_ATOB
From the menu structure.
I cannot help on the TTN6 version numbers as I only use version 5,21 on the PDA, I have version 6 installed on my Go-910.
