|
|
Hi. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced a similar problem to the following with their StreetPilot i3 ?
I have v3.20 software installed. Lately my i3 seems to get itself into a strange mode during navigation whereby the screen will only update once every 1 to 3 mins (I haven't timed this exactly, but it's a long time). If I hit the left button to go to the main menu and then hit it again to go back to the map, the screen remains blank until the next screen update.
Normally everything starts off fine at the beginning of the journey and then it gets itself into this mode about 30 - 45 mins into the journey. Curiously though, all the verbal directions remain accurate and the distance to the next turn continues to count down accurately. So it knows exactly where it is, it just decides that it's not going to update the screen very frequently ! Obviously this can be quite frustrating !
I've noticed this mainly when I'm driving on fast roads, about 70 mph (not on small local roads). When it happens I check the satellite reception and it's normally a perfect 5 bars. Also, I'm using external power from the cigarette lighter.
Just wondered if anyone knows a reason why this might happen be happening ?
Thanks. |

Hi,
Some users have experienced problems such as yours with FW 3.20.
The best option is to install the older FW 2.70 which by all accounts seems to be the best.
There is a sticky link in the forum menu page with all the info regarding this.
Try it out to see if things improve for you.

Thanks very much for your quick replies. I'll do what you suggested and go back to FW v2.70. |

Don't forget - if you're going back on a firmware version, if you have any favourites that you want to keep, you'll have to back them up, first, with easygps (http://www.easygps.com) first, revert the firmware, then restore them afterwards. |
