Has anybody else had problems with the 710's handsfree? Mine the volume for calls can be fine for some and very quite for others? Yes the volume for calls is up full. Also the external microphone is very poor and you nearly need to have it in-front of your mouth for it to work. Are there any better options on the market?
Thanks, Andrew. |

I have found the 910 to be no better, and am disappointed particularly as they sell it saying that there is no need to have a handsfree kit as the TomTom will do it for you.

In the case of the 910 you get a free external microphone (not too sure about the other models), I have found the internal microphone to be of little use requiring the user to shout in order to be heard.
Fit the external microphone, clip it to the sun visor and it works great.
OK the true capability of the mobile phone side of the TomTom will really depend upon the model and make of phone, mine does the hands free and number retreval, but sadly doesn't do the Text option - Mike |

Have you adjusted the volume control whilst recieving a call, it could be that it simply isn't set to a high enough volume? - Mike |

Yup tried that. It is odd as some calls are fine but others are very quite.

I can usually hear the other person, but all there hear is the sound of a car on a motorway even with the microphone.
Cheers
