|

I have tried to understand the erudite comments in the other messges but they are over my head.
Quite simply I am being driven mad by the Bluetooth flashing light and the Bluetooth browser screen hogging my HP2210 everytime I try to run TomTom( 2.28 and 2.09 updates loaded although wizard deleted)
This is a problem which has been fairly constant through the upgrades.
Is there a way of using TomTom without my IPAQ behaving like an emergency vehicle??
In simple language please.
Thanks |

Had thought of that but unfortunately it doesn't get rid of the Bluetooth Browser screen(nothing on it) regardless of frequent presses of 'OK' and/or 'Cancel'.
Even when it goes and I get into TomTom, it still comes back! |

Have a read of this thread and follow the suggestion to edit your registry (taking all appropriate precautions). Soft reset once you've added the value to the registry.
This should allow you to get rid of the browser - though be aware of how to reverse the change in case you ever need to select a different Bluetooth serial port device in the future.

An alternative to the registry hack you can do the following (works on HP 2210 at least).
Go to Bluetooth settings and uncheck authorisation required but made sure authentification and encryption are checked .

Not being a guru the idea of messing about in the Registry gave me nightmares.
I have installed the GPS 2.09 update but it doesn't make any difference.
A posting by Mearns on 24/8 on the thread from Dave, seems to working fine as a get around solution. Shame TomTom can't sort themselves out.
Many thanks all, especially Dave for the thread. |
