Hi,
I see from the forum on speedcameras/TTN 5 that POI Edit is not currently supported. Being a paid-up subscriber to the Speed Camera database I have been happily using POI Edit but can you tell me when POI edit will be supported please? _________________ Mike -

Posted yesterday: robbrady wrote: | Sorry, we have decided that we will not support POIEdit as we would prefer everyone to come to the site to read the announcements and take part in the forums. Even though only a tiny proportion of our visitors used POIEdit, it has become increasingly clear from the threads, PMs and emails that a good percentage of those who regularly use it would not visit the site for many, many months. Not only that, it would be no easy feat integrating the service into what is already a complicated back-end. |

A good point. I have downloaded the latest data and am just thankful that I did not get caught as my latest data was February's.
It may be helpful to include a warning in the main announcement each time the data is updated as usual on a monthly basis as I am sure others are as blissfully unaware as I was.
Thanks for all the GPSW team's good work! _________________ Mike -

Hi
I now have tomtom 5 running on an MDA compact II. It has been running fine with old maps and out of date Speedcam data!
I updated to the latest UK & Ireland maps (but NOT navigator 6 upgrade) and the maps work fine. I then backed up everything successfully, updated the Cams data (using MS Activesync) and followed the instructions to unzip the file and copy to the maps folder in the SD card. Result - no cams show in POI!
Can anyone help

Do you have too many POI Categories Installed? I believe the limit is 39 with TTN5. _________________ Richard

I am having problems downloading the speed camera files to a Mac, 5 am running MacOS10.4 and the current safari browser and the zip files are all corrupt when I download them and will not decompress using stuffit expander. The downloading file icons also remain and give file not fully downloaded messages though the download window indicaes download complete. What is the problem is there a work around?
TIA

i am just enquiring about using or making the safety camera downloads work.
I have ipaqHx2490. I have tomtom6 installed with GB mapv6.5
My friend had taken my pda and stored safety camera downloads on my pda and told me that it should work.
I have the following files in the SD card under GB plus major map
safety_cam_uk_30_tomtom.ov2,safety_cam_uk_30_tomtom.bmp and so on 40,50,60,70.
But it does not show up on the map while driving.
All the files are marked as read only.
I also have poi.dat file.
If someone could help me please to make my speed camera download work.
Is there anything else i should do to make it work.
thanks in anticipation |
You've probably sorted it by now, but those are the cams supplied by Tom Tom , not from this site. |

I'm using a Mac running 10.4.8 and can download the .zip files without issue using both Firefox and Safari. Have you ensured you are using the latest version of Stuffit? _________________ Darren Griffin |
