OK for the record, the cables are various lengths:

120MM/ 4,7" for the GPS
90MM/ 3,1" for the GSM
130MM/ 5,1" for AM/FM

Point is they are short! and without extensions the unit can't be used - Mike

I myself also use this antenna in the states (us). Can't say nothing about tmc, but find the FM reception subpar Imo. (could be my setup tho) Also, as you have mentioned, longer cables from the antenna would've been helpful. Overall, this is a great antenna.

From my two years of experience with it. I can add that weather has zero effect on its performance. I've driven with a foot of snow on the roof of my suv and have had 8 satelite lock on the gps for navigation purposes. Downpour rain also doesn't effect reception. I mention this cause I know its an issue with other units. So don't be scared.

The one issue I do have, and bothers me to this very day. I wounder if you've experience the same? Its with a Garmin OEM gps receive (prolly the culprit???). Lock is exceptional like I mentioned. But it takes very minor foilage while driving such as a a couple tree branches to loose all satelite tracking. Do u get this too? Just curious. because this seems to loose lock abnormally easily to a usb sirfII chip conterpart I use to use.

I have not experianced the unit dropping out when under foilage, I will try a few things though to prove it.
As for your device being "subpar" on AM/ FM and dropping the GPS at times, is the roof of your vehicle metal or GRP ? also check the 12V supply to the aerial - it could be the supply or its return (through the cars metal work) that is fault - Mike

No, roof is metal, and unit has a good ground connection. But the +12v lead could be an issue. But i don't think so... cause its stable and turns on with the car. straigh lead. But ya, input on the drop of the gps under foilage would be greatly appreciated, cause I personally believe it is the garmin receiver.

On thing I didn't catch is which receiver did u use on ur setup? Cause I've been looking at SirfIII based units lately myself.

Has anyone found a combi aerial like this that is designed for car roofs that have the aerial at the front, instead of the back? Therefore a much sharper angle, about 35 degres from horizontal?
