Hi
I have an Ipaq 2210.
It would appear from the TomTom website that a lot of pda's will not be compatible with navigator 6.
In addition TomTom have made no provision of map updating as far as I can see for TT5 users.
Does this mean then that unless you by a new pda you cannot use the new software and will never have any further map updates for your TT5 version.
TomTom have always been promising map udates for their product but never produced the goods. You have always been forced into a software upgrade now it looks as if you are forced into a pda upgrade as well. |

Hi rsm,
to the forum!
Don’t worry about your iPAQ h2210, a standard h2210 running WM2003 will run TomTom Navigator 6!
In the past TomTom have always had an upgrade path for Navigator – right back from 1.xx to 2.xx, 2.xx to 3.xx, 3.xx to 5.xx. At the moment there is a lot of confusion about whether TomTom will continue this trend and have an upgrade path from 5.xx to 6.xx. As soon as we have an answer you will hear it here.
Personally I think that TomTom will have an upgrade path for 5.xx owners because if they didn’t people might decide to change to a competitor’s product. 8)

Hi
Thanks for the answer, however, I have just receieved a reply from TomTom and they advise that the 2210 will not run Navigator 6.
In addition I asked about map upgrades for version 5 users who cannot upgrade to 6.
Their response is that they are thinking about it but do not know if there will be a map only upgrade for TT5 users. Nothing has been decided yet and they do not know when they will decide if ever.
Therefore bottom line is if you want TT6 and upgraded maps buy a compatible pda.
I did ask what the spec needs to be for a pda to run TT6 but this was not supplied.
As someone who has followed TT from its beginning with navigator, and upgraded to each new version, for pda's I find this very poor in terms of customer relations that it would seem to cover a large number of people who must be in the same position. |

Has anyone tried an official version of TTN6 on an O2 Exec? Just wondered what the performance is like. With TTN5 you can't have POIs displayed in the 3D view otherwise the screen refresh slow to about 1 fps. Have they managed to fix this?
Also, given the native portrait/landscape switching, does TTN6 switch smoothly when rotating the screen? Have occasionally run into probelms with this on TTN5.
Ta! |

So, can anyone give me any further infomation as to the accuracy and detail on the Madrid map that comes as part of the Maps of Western Europe package? Some detail images would be great, although it appears that only links to images can be included in this forum. Can any moderators with evaluation copies please have a quick look and just let me know what they look like? I am wanting to put my name down on the reserve list but am hesitating until I know more about the detail.
Thanks, and again, sorry to be a pain. |

bennygod, apparently the dvd contains individual maps of Western Europe and a single WEU map. I can't comment on the former, but on the latter Madrid is mapped to street level. Were you interested in any street in particular? _________________ Tim |
