Sorry if this question has been answered on another thread.... but I was wondering whether TomTom issue map updates to users. It seems the latest version is getting quite old now with many new roundabouts/raods no longer on TomTom.
I would find it particularly useful if the new M6 toll road was on TomTom, since this still seems to be poorly signed from the north and west (particularly from the M54).
I think the right answer is likely to be that we can only hope that M6 Toll will be in the maps for TomTom Navigator 3. The maps for TomTom Navigator 2 are just over a year old now (apparently they're December 2002 data). If the same pattern is followed this time round, Navigator 3 will appear around April or May and use December 2003 data - though until TomTom announce Navigator 3, we won't know. Certainly if they use data for Navigator 3 that's too old to include M6 Toll, they deserve screaming at by the beta testers until they fix it!
It seems clear that TomTom Navigator 3 is coming - Navigator for the Palm Tungsten 3 has been announced, and the screenshots show a few differences. There a quote from an emailed reply from TomTom in this thread that refers fairly directly to a forthcoming Navigator 3 product for the Pocket PC.
It will, of course, be interesting to see if the Tungsten 3 product includes M6 Toll.
Last time round, the upgrade from Navigator 1 to Navigator 2, which was both new software and new maps, cost 39 Euros, with a handful of people who bought Navigator 1 particularly late on getting a free upgrade (in much the same sort of way as Microsoft behave when Office is updated). Hopefully the upgrade this time round will be the same sort of price; if so, that makes it pretty good value compared to what some other companies charge for upgrades.
