UK Postcodes to ov2 format

Is there a way for this to be done? I know that they can be imported into MS Autoroute and then converted, but I don't have this program.

Why would you want to do it now that it is included in the map data?

Shell have sent me an excel spreadsheet showing all their petrol staions that stock V-Power.

I'm after making a ov2 to help me locate them on TTN5. I made one for Shell Optimax fuel a couple of years back. I imported the data into MS Autoroute (csv I think?) and then used POI Converter to make the ov2 file. My problem lies with the fact that our office no longer has MS Autoroute on our PC, nevermind an up to date 2006 version.

My query is, can I make the neccessary ov2 with only the postcodes (850 of them)?

I have created OV2 sets from autoroute using POI Convertor from http://rjdavies.users.btopenworld.com/html/poiconverter.html

I already have a file with Shell stations in it, if you can somehow forward on the email with the excel file in it I could probably match them and create an OV2 for you.

Be very careful with the Postcode information. Companies are notorius at getting them wrong, or using out-of-date codes. Usually about 10%.

Also some AutoRoute Postcodes are sometimes, to be honest, a little wayward. Smile

Over 75% have to have a little bit of adjustment, to get them to a reasonably correct location.;)

Hi Richard

Yes, I found this out when I did one for Shell Optimax sites. With the postcodes supplied direct from Shell. After conversion into csv (via Autoroute) and then into ov2 (via POIConverter) the locations weren't perfect, but there were nearly 1000 of them.
