|

I have a copy of TTN5 and have noticed that I can "Call Number" as one of the options. It found local cinemas etc. I was wondering if I could add my own numbers to call.
I have seen that some Tomtom Go models have the ability to work as a handsfree system. Is it possible to do the same with TTN5? |

If you have a Pocket PC Phone Edition then you can call the TomTom POIs .
To add a phone number concatenate the POI text with a "greater than" sign and the phone number including the country code but without the Plus sign _________________ Lutz

Thanks peterc10. I ha afeeling that wouldnt be possible. However, it does seem I can add numbers into the POI according to lbendlin.
I tried to add a POI. First set up a POI category called "phone" then went to add a POI... this is where the process ended. I couldnt work out which icon i should have selected.. Im not very good at this sort of thing! I tried to add a number as an "address" but was immediatly halted when i couldnt find the "<" key on they board. Maybe I simply cannot do this on TTN5 for PPC. I am only using an iPAQ 4150.
Any suggestions? step by step processes??
Hope you can help |

Please have a read of THIS from last year, it details how to do what you want, although it does require recourse to the PC (unless anyone has sorted out how to do this on the PPC directly as yet?) - Mike |

I don't think you can do it. If I remember correctly calling the phone numbers will only work if your PDA is also a phone and is running Pocket PC Phone Edition (I think that is what Lutz meant). Mine is an Ipaq 6340 which is a PPC phone as well and so it works.
It will not work if you are trying to phone via a mobile phone and bluetooth, for the same reason that it will not work as a hands free unit for that phone (not got the correct BT protocols) _________________ Peter
