But as we’re losing ad-revenue from this then why not make a donation towards website running costs?. Or you could disable your ad-blocker for this site. We think you’ll find our adverts are not overbearing!

Hi all,
Can you help? I'm a bit of a technophobe. recently bought a Tom Tom 510. At least that's what it said on the box. The bottom of the unit says 710!!!!! Maybe I lucked out. Anyway, it's got the camera database on it but it's pretty duff. I'm guessing the database is out of date as I go past some cameras I know have been there for a while and ther's nothing form the unit.
Basically, my question is this. Are the updates available here suitable for the newer Tom Tom's? Any advise, download hints, guides etc etc would be appreciated.
A friend of mine has used this site and raves about it especially the "add-ons"? Here's hoping for some good stuff.
ps. You definitely lucked out if it is a 710 :P _________________ -------------------------------------------------------

Tony, Welcome to the forum, both the 510 and the 710 appear to have the same ident plate on the bottom of the device, so I guess if you bought the 510 that is what you have (only the maps are different in terms of content).
As for speed cameras, you can use the supplied database if you want to, but as you have rapidly found out, its not that upto date, if you want to install the PGPSW database I would start by reading the user guide written for the 910 device (just ignore the Text To Speach related information as your device cannot do this - 910 only) the remainder of the set-up guide is exactly what you need, you can find it HERE - Mike
