Can anybody tell me where i can down load the latest software for TTOne as i have the following version:
App 5.450
O.S 1011
GPS v1.21
Boot 4.28
Map; Great_Britian-map v605
You are supposed to be able to download it by using TT Home but i cant get that to work either.
Is there any other websites i can upgrade??

i think u are stuck with home.. it does work providing your PC can detect the tomtom device..
when u plug your tomtom into the computer usb port remove the sd card first.. make sure its turned on.. u should get a beep from windows and a screen comes up showing a big cross on the sd card.. put in your card and home should read and update it..
make sure your firewall and PC stuff isnt stopping home talking to the mothership.. i think it also needs win xp to work.. it wont work with 98..

I am running on XP but i will try without the SD card.
Whats happening at the moment is i am plugging my ttone in the pc a message come up over the pic of the TT saying, i think componnent detected. But in red i get a message above it saying that somthing (i cant remember what) is missing and needs to be downloaded. i click on the login as instructed but nothing happens.
But i will try again without the SD card and see if it downloads the required updates/componnents. |

firstly u shouldnt need home or any tomtom software to connect to your pc.. home just kinda makes it all easy with its conection to the mothership and your tomtom..
without home.. plugging your device into the PC and switching it on should cause windows to detect it as a portable storage device just like it would if u plugged a card reader or digicam in..
your tomtom is acting like a portable storage device.. home just links it to the mothership..
but if windows isnt seeing it neither will home.. see if it connects with home switched off.. get it to work this way first.. when u know windows is seeing it then crank up home..
without home u can drag and drop to and from your card just like if it was in a reader.. your tomtom is in essence just a card reader when connected to your PC..

My PC can read my tom tom, but my home can recognise my tom tom but it wont let me do anything once it has recognised it. I need it to be able to download the latest version. The version i have is:
App 5.450
O.S 1011
GPS v1.21
Boot 4.28
Map; Great_Britian-map v605
also i did try plugging it in with out the SD card as you suggested but my home just sat there and did nothing i put the card in and it recognised it but still nothing worked no log in and it didnt download the item i need to run my tom tom on my home??
The reason i wanted to use my home is you are able to do your planning at home which would my my life easier.
Maybe i will try the soft reset, whats a SOFT reset ?? but do you then loose any of your installed POI's??

A soft reset is when you stick a pin up the reset hole (usually situated on the bottom of the tom tom. |

try doing a windows update, there may be windows drivers needed to detect the removable disc.
have you got service pack 2 on your pc? If not get it cos support for service pack 1 expires in october. |
